New England Restoration
Water damage?...We Can Help!

Our Story

Nearly 40 Years of Showing Up When It Matters Most.

New England Restoration was built on a simple belief: when a family is in crisis, they deserve more than a crew with equipment. They deserve care.

Founded 1986

It Started With a Promise.

Chad Goodhue founded New England Restoration in 1986 with a conviction that the restoration industry could — and should — do better. Not just faster response times or better equipment, but a fundamentally different relationship with the families being served.

He had seen firsthand how a disaster in the home creates a second crisis: the fear, the confusion, the feeling of being at the mercy of strangers in your most vulnerable moment. He decided to build a company that would address both — the damage to the property and the distress of the people inside it.

Nearly four decades later, that founding promise is still the standard every member of the NER team is held to.

Meet the Founder

Chad Goodhue

Founder & President, New England Restoration

"I've walked into thousands of homes at the worst moment of a family's life. Every single time, my job is the same: make them feel like help has truly arrived — not just a service truck."

Chad has spent his entire career in the restoration and environmental services industry. He built NER from the ground up, earning certifications across water mitigation, mold remediation, asbestos abatement, lead paint mitigation, and radon mitigation.

What sets Chad apart isn't just his technical expertise — it's his insistence that every client interaction reflect the same standard of care he would want for his own family. That philosophy is embedded in every hire, every training, and every job NER takes on.

Chad is based in Newtown, CT, where NER has served the community and surrounding counties for nearly four decades.

A Letter from Chad

Who We Are. Why We Care.

Chad wrote this letter to explain — in his own words — what New England Restoration stands for, why he built it the way he did, and what every family who calls us can expect. It's the clearest expression of our mission we know.

Why NER

The Difference Is Care.

There are many restoration companies in Connecticut. What makes New England Restoration different isn't our equipment or our certifications — though both are best-in-class. It's the standard we hold ourselves to: that every family we serve should feel, from the first call to the final walkthrough, that they were truly cared for.

Emergency Care. Not just emergency service.
